How it's made

Forged by hand, one blade at a time.

  1. 01

Hammered to shape. Shirogami white steel is heated in the forge and beaten out by hand, blow by blow. No press, no stamping.

  2. 02

Hardened by fire and water. The blade is brought up to heat and quenched, locking a hard, keen edge into the steel.

  3. 03

Ground and sharpened on stones. The bevel is set and honed by hand on whetstones until it truly bites.

  4. 04

Finished and fitted. A brushed finish, then a wood handle set by hand. No two are ever identical.
