How it's made
Forged by hand, one blade at a time.
-
01
Hammered to shape. A VG-10 core is clad in stainless steel, heated in the forge and beaten out by hand - the tsuchime dimples and Damascus lines you see on the blade. No press, no stamping.
-
02
Hardened by fire and water. The blade is brought up to heat and quenched, locking a hard, keen edge into the steel.
-
03
Ground and sharpened on stones. The bevel is set and honed by hand on whetstones until it truly bites.
-
04
Finished and fitted. A brushed finish, then a wood handle set by hand. No two are ever identical.
